Sentani Boutique began in 2011 selling cocktail-wear and accessories out of a small storefront in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. Over the years we slowly introduced formal and bridesmaid dresses to our range, and eventually expanded to Bridal-wear too. Today, we curate a gorgeous assortment of timeless special-occasion pieces meant to be treasured for years to come.

Our practices

When we release a new collection, new arrivals are purchasable by pre-order only. By adopting this slow fashion approach, we’re able to collate data and feedback to ensure our customers truly love the item before ordering any stock.

We know how important it is to get an idea of the fit and quality of a gown before purchasing, which is why we stock our showroom with a variety of styles in different colours and sizes. However, unlike large retailers we do not stock every dress in every size and colour variation in our showroom. Instead, our experienced team will work with you to take your measurements and specially order your dream dress straight from the designer.

This means that we are not contributing to overproduction, which is often seen in the fashion industry to save on manufacturing costs.

Our policies

We strongly believe that items should always be repaired where possible, instead of replaced. We have an extremely talented quality control team who is able to restore any faulty garments to a like-new condition where possible. We take this approach when receiving incoming stock from our designers, and when we receive returns from our customers. If we’re not able to get a piece back to the intended condition, the item is either added to our sample sale or donated to one of our community project organisations.

Garment care

When cared for properly, a special occasion dress can be kept in amazing condition and can be re-worn over and over again! Correctly cleaning and storing your dress is the key to getting as much life out of your dress as possible.

In general, the best way to clean your dress yourself at home is to spot clean using lukewarm water and a little bit of mild detergent. Once cleaned, you can lay your dress flat, in the shade to dry. If you’re unsure or don't feel comfortable cleaning it yourself, we suggest having it serviced by a high-end dress specialist. Due to the delicate nature of many fabrics we sell, we do not recommend dry cleaning without professional consultation first.

Once clean, the best way to store your dress is in a cool, dark place like at the back of a wardrobe, or under a bed. Store your dress in a breathable fabric garment bag to keep it protected from dust or dirt.
